I've never done acid before but I imagine this is the movie that would give me that feeling. This two-hour film made me question my sanity. Even as something from the 1960s this is wild and just all around insane and the fact they got they nabbed the likes of Marlon Brando, Richard Burton and James Coburn, not to mention Ringo Starr playing a Mexican, is incredible. ***Zany, sometimes amusing, but dreadfully dull late 60’s curiosity with Burton, Starr, Coburn and Brando*** Released during Christmas in 1968, “Candy” is a satirical interpretation of a classic of literature and thus producers could argue that it had redeeming social value and avoid being judged pornographic, as it was touted in order to draw men to the theater. But it bombed and deservedly so
