Zheng Zhegu

Biography

Zheng Zhegu was one of the earliest film actors in China. He had graduated from Jiangnan Suiying School. In 1911 he began to engage in new drama performances. In 1914, he joined the New Play Comrade Association and performed on the stage. In 1922, he founded the Star Film Company with Zheng Zhengqiu, Zhou Jianyun, etc., and served as the educational director of the Star Film School. Zheng once served as assistant teacher in the Yaofeng Opera Museum, and participated in the establishment of Xinmin Library as the general manager. show more
