Peter Sipla was born in the Chicago suburb of Warrenville, to Emil Thomas (Tom) Sipla, and Maritza Natalia (Wong) Sipla. On his grandfather's side, the Sipla clan is from the Bohemian/Czech neighborhoods in central Wisconsin.
